Epson Inspires Creativity with Interactive Workshops at SIGGRAPH 2016

Epson to Host T-Shirt Design Class and Live Digital “Draw-Off” at Annual Conference

Epson will showcase its latest professional printing and projection technology at the Studio at SIGGRAPH 2016 – “Transition Spaces.” The Studio is a collaborative makerspace that brings the latest technologies and materials together with the brightest minds to experiment, learn, and inspire creativity. Epson Professional Printers, the primary 2D printing solution at SIGGRAPH, are open for hands-on use at the Studio. Attendees are invited to learn how to print their artwork in the Studio, from Sunday, July 24, through Thursday, July 28 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

“Epson is a leader in imaging technologies, and we are thrilled to continue our partnership, bringing the latest printing and projection technology to the Studio,” said Gerry Derksen, Chair, Studio, at SIGGRAPH 2016. “Whether printing original photography, illustrations, artwork, or even t-shirts, attendees will have opportunities to work directly with a wide array of printing technologies, ranging from desktop photo printers, 44-inch wide-format plotters, and direct-to-garment t-shirt printers.”

Visitors to the Studio will learn how to use a broad range of printing technologies, techniques and applications with help from experienced hands:

Beyond the Studio activities, the Epson Pro G6570WU and new Epson Pro L1000-Series projectors will be utilized in break-out sessions to drive collaboration during demos and classes.

“As a pop-up makerspace, the Studio provides the ideal venue for artists of all disciplines to try Epson SureColor printers. With a variety of papers including fine art, photo, and canvas, attendees will learn how the right paper, ink, and skill can yield exceptional works of art,” said Eddie Murphy, marketing specialist, Epson America. “We’re looking forward to demystifying the print process, and inspiring artists’ creativity with professional mobile printing, gallery-quality papers, and the new 13-inch SureColor P400 printer.”
