“I honestly don’t know how we survived without them,” says Jamie Pires, account clerk, deputy city clerk for the City of Escalon, California. “It’s night and day how much easier our workdays have become.” Over the last 18 months, Pires and Office Specialist, Jenny Thompson have been using Epson document scanners to smooth out the transition between traditional, paper-based files and the city’s electronic document management system.
Located in California’s Central Valley, Escalon is small, with just 7,500 residents. Yet like other rural cities, it serves a wider farming community, keeping its seven office employees much busier than its population might imply.
The city’s five Epson color document scanners, four DS-530 color duplex scanners and one DS-770 color document scanner, help staff quickly and conveniently merge the thousands of paper-based documents they must deal with into an accessible and secure digital system.
