Epson Unveils Ultra-Bright, Ultra-Portable Projectors for Corporate Boardrooms and Road Warriors

New Epson PowerLite®1700 Series Projectors Deliver Easy USB Connectivity, Increased Resolution, and Industry’s First “Plug-and-Play” Wireless Connection

LONG BEACH, Calif. – June 18, 2008 – Epson, the number-one selling projector brand worldwide, today announced the Epson PowerLite 1720, 1725, 1730W, and 1735W projectors. These models delivers 3,000 lumens of color and white light output for bright, vivid images, are sleekly designed, and weigh just less than four pounds.  Presenters, whether in a conference room or on-the-go, can take advantage of Epson’s new Quick Wireless Connection USB Key for virtual plug-and-play wireless connectivity and streaming video with audio via USB connectivity.  The Epson PowerLite 1720 and 1725 offer XGA resolution ($1,299* and $1,499*, respectively) and Epson PowerLite 1730W and 1735W projectors ($1,699* and $1,899*, respectively) offer WXGA resolution (16:10 aspect ratio), ideal for use with widescreen laptops and DVD content.

Extremely Easy Connectivity
With these new projectors, Epson had made big advancements in projection ease-of-use with USB technology. The Epson PowerLite 1725 and 1735W projectors feature a unique USB connection for “plug-and-play” projection. Presenters are now able to display video with accompanying audio, as well as control PowerPoint presentations using the “page up” and “page down” buttons on the remote, with one easy connection via standard USB cable, instead of carrying around a bulky VGA cable. The PowerLite 1725 and 1735W also offer the industry’s first Quick Wireless Connection USB Key, removing all the complexity from wireless connectivity. By simply inserting the USB Key into the projector (first time setup only) and then into the notebook, the USB Key automatically reconfigures the notebook’s network settings and wirelessly connects to the projector for instantaneous use.  When the presentation is complete, users can remove the USB Key from their notebook and the original network settings will be restored.

“The new PowerLite 1700 series projectors offer corporate and mobile presenters with feature-rich, flexible projection solutions for virtually any conference room setting,” said Heather Litus, product manager, Epson America Inc. “With these four models, Epson provides customers with the optional ability to easily deliver standard or widescreen presentations via USB or wirelessly in environments where space can be constricted, without sacrificing vibrant and high-quality images.”
