Established in 1977 in Kyoto, the heart of Japan’s textile and apparel industry, Leaf & Co., Ltd. started with rotary-screen and flatbed-screen textile printing machines. Today, the company offers one-stop service—from textile design to printing, focusing on high quality with short lead times.
Leaf began digital textile printing in 2011 with Epson’s Monna Lisa printer to meet short-run orders. Prior to that, the company exclusively used analog printing processes, which required multiple screens to be created and washed for each job. As demand for short-run orders increased, Leaf’s operators were spending a substantial amount of time on these labor-intensive activities.
